We were once cheaters, fraudsters and deceivers but Christ made us Righteous. On this series we will use our South African Heritage Big Five animals just to draw attention. Although before we embark on our series Heritage of the chosen. Firstly need to define the word heritage, we know we are not yet in the month of heritage, but as we blog with masses of people we have to address it for the well functioning of the Body of Christ.
Many define it through their genealogical transition, they define it as a tradition; a practice or set of values that is passed down from preceding generations through families or through institutional memory. Nevertheless, if there is a physical heritage it means it started from the Spiritual realm in God. For our physical heritage are artificial because they decay, withering and wasting away. Hence, Jesus said "store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal." (Matt 6:20).
God chose us not because of our social statuses, not because we look better than others. His selections and Him choosing us, it was by Grace provided that we have faith in what He did for us through Christ. Heritage and being chosen by God is not a wage or reward for the works we have done, but it is our Father's Grace Upon Grace.
As much as we were born again and we were chosen to become sons and daughters of God our Father we carry all the attributes and genetics of God. Righteousness is our inheritance and are entitled to everything that is in our Father's house. Religion will always makes us to default from receiving to working, it will make us sweat for what is already ours and end up not getting what we deserve. Righteousness is our inheritance that we received when we first believe. Righteousness is only purchased by faith and by being born again.
Righteousness is something that even if we work and put much efforts to it we will never attain to it, being righteous before God it is not the matter of do's and don't. Jews thought by observing Judaism rituals and law keeping would make them righteous but their righteousness became like filthy rags before God. (Isa 64:6). As much us nowadays Christians think they're declared righteous by wearing long garments, by attending all church services, by not gathering with inferior people which is not a contempt, but faith is a priority. However, those observations and rules we set they make us religious not righteous.
Righteousness is one of the inheritance that we receive and freely given by God, when we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. We automatically declared righteous when we believe in Christ also by continuing in His Word. Jesus Christ took our unrighteousness and gave us His Righteousness. Being Righteousness it means being in right standing with God, we can't be in right standing with God by any means but by Christ alone.
Righteousness our Heritage.
