Humans hardly function when they are trapped, even their minds tend to be limited and darkened. Hence, in prison when they want to torture a man they place him in a single dark cell alone.

We are striving beings, we always have a need to move, a need to have more, a need to grow, a need for A Way Out. Darkness has no apparatus, as much as we don't have any appliance that controls the level of darkness, which means darkness doesn't exist. We can define darkness by saying, it is the absence of light.

Even God Himself before He created the World, He needed the Light to see His way out. Darkness was in the face of the deep, He started by creating the Light and separated light from darkness. He called darkness night and light called it day, as a person you cannot be neutral it is either you belong to the day (Light) or you belong to the night (darkness). Our mind is wired in such a way that when its dark, it knows that we must sleep, hence it is abnormal to work night shifts. God never created anything in the dark, as a results the devil took an advantage of it to do his evil works in the dark.

When fear, doubt, guilt and depression penetrates in a mans life, know that it is a sign that the light is flickering or absent. Light brings warmth, it bring hope, light shows us the way. It is through the light that we see our way out! For many years Gentiles were trapped in sin, and Jews were bounded by the law, nothing on Earth was auspicious and promising. Being trapped in sin breeds immorality, hatred, witchcraft, drunkenness, fornication, and murders etc, which they all exits in darkness. Even the Law did Israel no good, because they sinned and were disobedient, even punished while claiming to be righteous. Well we don't despite the fact that the Law is good, but it doesn't make anyone good! Yes, the Law is holy but it doesn't make anyone holy. Israel was full of greed, corruption, hypocrisy and covetousness, guilt and fear which are the results of living in darkness.

As a result, the same word that David said it is a lamp unto his feet and light unto his path (Psa 119:105), the same word was made flesh and lived among us. In Him there was life and that life was the light of men. Plants also have a need of light, because their growth depends on it, without light they die. Peter almost prematurely died, if it wasn't for the light, he would have died in chapter 12 of his ministry. When he was trapped in maximum prison, as some people now they are trapped in certain prisons. He was chained under maximum security, and he was in a dark single cell. He told himself it was finished with him and his ministry, he took off his belt, denied the truth as some of us do, he already took of his sandals as some of us have abundant preaching the good news, Peter even took off his garment, as some of us have have taken off our garment of salvation and left the presence of the Lord.

It was through the light that Peter saw his way out. The Angel of the Lord appeared and the cell was brighened with light, that same light gave Peter hope and A Way Out. It was all because the church that was earnestly praying for him while he was in prison. It is only  by prayer that we can keep our light trimmed and burning to show us A Way Out! Doors open by themselves, when we walk in the Light of God Jesus Christ gives us His grace which will open doors that we were trapped in without us using our any efforts.

It Is Through the Light that we See Our Way Out.
