God is a Spirit, so are we. Nevertheless our flesh and physical birth has blinded and led us astray. Adam's disobedience was so contagious, thus, he lost his spiritual identity, that made everyone born of women to vacate from their true identity. God's plan about our rebirth it wasn't a western epistemology or system as our fellow Africans always claimed it to be, but God's plan was all about adopting us to Himself and to take us back to our original true identity.
We as people have endured to much burdens and consequences, to be precise, all these commotions we experience in the world are rooted in identity junctures. Eastern people had identify themselves with their own perspective. Not to mention the ongoing identity civil wars between African and Western identity perspectives.
Western identity views reality and assumes that selfhood is an objective and universal science. In other words, it is seen as the only scientific and fact-based way of understanding an individual. It does not consider contextual particularities such as sex, race, culture, and the values and meanings of others in understanding an individual. Yet our African identity is viewed as communal and personhood (who a person is) is defined in relation to the community and nature, not the self.
Western self hood brought pride and self-righteousness to a person, and the African perspective led birth to idolatry. As those things made us to be far away from God our Source of true identity, we trusted on created things instead of the creator (Rom 1:25). God decided from the beginning to adopt us back to Himself. In Him we are secured from manipulations, heresy and deceptions. It is only by believing in Christ so that we're adopted in His household.
